On a beautiful Sunday in September, I had the great pleasure of photographing Daniel & Shobhana’s Tarrytown House Estate wedding in Tarrytown, NY. This wedding was a blending of their Jewish and Indian cultures, with a Jewish wedding ceremony and a lively colorful reception. The bride wore a traditional white gown for the outdoor ceremony, and then changed into the most vibrant and exquisitely beaded pink & turquoise ensemble to celebrate with her guests. Her hands and feet were beautifully painted with henna, and she even had a cake topper in a matching outfit!
The setting was perfect; gorgeous bride, stunning landscape, fantastic weather, and plenty of dancing. Wow. After starting out with the Hora, the dj’s from DJ Essence kept the energy high on the dance floor, mixing in lots of bhangra and Bollywood tunes to keep those arms in the air.
Tarrytown House is a fantastic wedding venue, just a few minutes down the riad from Poppy Studio. There are two separate mansions, with several ballrooms, terraces, and private dining rooms. And, there’s even a swanky bar in the cellar for your after party!
