Such a fun Coliseum bat mitzvah!
This Coliseum bat mitzvah started out in the usual way, with temple portraits before the service at Congregation Kol Ami in White Plains, NY. Although I have photographed dozens of bar & bat mitzvahs, I always check in with my clients, to find out what their priorities are for their portraits. Some families want many formal photographs in the sanctuary, others want just a few groupings. Sometimes, it’s all about individual portraits of the bar or bat mitzvah. Other times, large, multi-generational group photos are the focus. AND, when the weather is nice, we also have the option to photograph portraits indoors and outdoors. In this case, we did a little bit of everything.
After the service, it was off to the party at Coliseum nightclub in White Plains.
I have photographed several Coliseum bat mitzvahs, and it’s always a good time. Before the guests arrived, we did a quick “fashion shoot” with Jillian in her party dress. The space was bathed in colored lights and decorated with images from her pre-mitzvah session. The photo pillows were super-cute!
