Harrison’s Westchester Bar Mitzvah started out with a ceremony at Temple Beth Abraham in Tarrytown. The Fall foliage made for a spectacular backdrop to some outdoor family portraits early in the morning. Of course, I also photographed many more “traditional” family temple portraits inside on the Bimah, some with the Rabbi & the Torah.
That evening, his Westchester Bar Mitzvah party at Elmwood Country Club in White Plains, NY. The party was fantastic- with gorgeous decor, delicious food, and a crazy-huge “graffiti wall” in the front lobby. I sure hope Harrison had room for that thing in his bedroom! Too cool. Speaking of cool, check out the awesome skateboarder cake.
As a Bar Mitzvah photographer, I have many goals in mind. Of course, I want to capture the “traditional” and “expected” or “asked-for” images. These would be the family group photos, possibly at the temple, with the Torah, on the Bimah, etc. But, I am always looking for that something extra. I want to photograph the fun, the emotions, the colors, the tastes, and the sounds of your event. You have been planning this day for a very long time, choosing each detail with care, and I want to capture all of this for you to remember.
Mazel Tov to you, Harrison, and a huge THANK YOU to your family for choosing me to photograph this special day.
